Covid-19 Rules

Rules to follow while curling this season

All curlers will be required to sign a COVID-19 Social Contract and Regular Curling Waiver.

COVID-19 Precautions that all members will follow for curling at RLCC:

LOCKER ROOM GUIDELINES:

  • Players are asked to come prepared to curl (minus wearing curling shoes in) and move directly to position on their sheet once ready to curl.

  • Locker rooms are available at your own risk.

  • Social distancing is expected. Allow for extra time.

  • Mask will be required in the building and on the ice when playing on the nights that are required. Sundays, Tuesday, Thursday and Saturdays.

PLAYING THE GAME:

  • Please use hand sanitizer station before entering the ice.

  • Enter and exit the door closet to the sheet you will be playing on.

  • Traditional handshakes are replaced with a “good curling”.

  • You can have 3 members on a team with no penalties.

  • Start at opposite ends:

    • Sheets 1 & 3 on the window side

    • Sheets 2 & 4 on the back wall

  • Coin Flip by 3rds with their own coin.

  • Teams can decide if they want 1 or 2 sweepers.

  • Player’s will touch only their two rocks during the game – rocks are moved around by using your foot on the striking band.

  • STRICT 2 hours per game. Please be courteous to all member by completing your games within 2 hours.

  • Losers of the game will sweep ice, pebble ice, nip ice and wipe down all handles of rocks, crutches and club brooms used with sanitizer wipes.

  • Winning teams will NOT be required to provide beverages to losing team. As team members may not stay to socialize.

  • Mask will be required in the building and on the ice when playing on the nights that are required. Sundays, Tuesday, Thursday and Saturdays.

SOCIALIZING:

  • Use clubhouse at your own risk.

  • Club will not be making/selling popcorn.

  • Hosting Team will pour all beer, selling all pop items and fill all glasses with ice.

  • No ice buckets will be placed on tables.
