Rice Lake Team Returns From Rotary Worlds

 |
The team of Andrew Morrison, Tim Jeanetta (St. Paul); Jason Saffert; and Don
Drost competed in the 32 team Rotary Can-Am games outside Toronto in
January. At that competition 3 teams were selected to represent Canada and
3 teams were selected to represent the U.S.A. at the Rotary World
competition in Perth Scotland in March.
Shortly before leaving, circumstances prevented Tim Jeanetta from going to
Scotland and the team was able to pick up Dick Boyum on short notice to join
them.
In Perth, the team competed against 9 other teams. The competition was a
round robin competition where each team played every other team. In the 9
game competition the Rice Lake curlers won 3 games and tied 1 game. Ties are
not played off. There are 2 points for winning, and 1 point for tying.
The team ended up in about the middle of the competition and did not get
into the final medal games for the gold, silver or bronze medals.
