Rice Lake Rotary Curlers Qualify For Worlds
 

Rice Lake curlers win the second event at the Rotary Can-Am games

and qualify to represent the USA at the Rotary World Games



A team of Rice Lake curlers competed in the international Rotary Can-Am

Games at Collingwood, Ontario (NW of Toronto) Jan. 17-18-19 2013. The

team emerged winners of the second event and were the top qualifying U.S. team for the Rotary

World Games. Our Rice Lake team was the only USA team to make it to the

finals, and shared the 6 sheets of ice in the final events with 11 Canadian teams.



A Madison, Wisconsin team was the other U.S. team that qualified for World

Games.



The two teams will represent the USA at the world competition in Aberdeen Scotland in April of 2014.



A third team will be selected to represent the USA in the world competition during the next Can-Am competition, which will be held January 2014 in Madison, Wisconsin. As qualifiers in this years Can-Am games the Rice Lake curlers are also required to compete in the 2014 Can-Am games, but will be competing the Scotland World games regardless of their standing in next years Can-Am games in Madison.
